So what are the steps that go into a full detail of your vehicle or boat? Well we've gladly provided the general steps we will do to get your car, truck, suv, RV, or boat it's best appearance!

Exterior Detailing:
Pressure Wash: When it comes to mobile car detailing, the basic step that is done first is removing all of the large contaminants from the exterior of the vehicle. This is done during the pressure washing step. Pressure washing involves the use of a highly concentrated stream of di-ionized water being sprayed onto the outside of your car, truck, or boat via an electric or gas powered motor. This forcefully removes anything from loose dirt, leaves, mud, or sand. Keeping a good distance from the vehicle is key since being too close can damage the thin layer of clear coat on the car. Areas where there is damage to the paint, such as chipping, are also avoided and may need to be hand washed instead in further steps.

Degreaser Rinse:  For large contaminants that aren't easily removed from the vehicle during the pressure washing step, such as dead bugs and bird droppings, a degreaser spray is used. Usually called an APC, this solution loosens up hardened and dried material on the vehicle to make it easier to remove. After being applied, a second pressure washing is given to remove these. If there are any waxes or sealants on the vehicle, these can be removed if a degreaser is applied, which is why it is recommended a fresh coat of wax or sealant be applied in further steps.

Shampooing: Here's the funnest part of detailing! Shampooing! Shampooing is done to remove any microbes or remaining grease on the vehicle. Shampooing involves two methods, the two bucket and spray foam. To get the soap onto the vehicle, a spray foam cannon is used to completely cover the exterior of your car, truck, or boat with a stream of soap. Dwelling is allowed to proceed. Once this is applied, the two bucket method commences: one bucket is used for the clean water while the other is the rinse, which has the dirty water. A soft hand towel is used in conjunction with the two bucket method to wipe off smaller debris from the vehicle. The soap and smaller debris are removed with a final pressure wash.

Drying:  After the soap has been removed, the vehicle is allowed to dry for a few minutes. This is where most mistakes are made during the detail process. If the vehicle is not properly dried, it can lead to water marks and webs to be etched into the clear coat of the paint. To reduce these from appearing, it is imperative during the final pressure wash that a sheeting method is used to remove most of the water droplets from the vehicle. Next a blow dryer removes any remaining droplets from problem areas where dripping may occur. A dry towel is then used to remove any remaining water by either patting or dragging.

Clay Bar Treatment: To remove the finer particles that are remaining on the outer coat of the vehicle's paint, further work is needed using a clay bar. A clay bar is exactly as it sounds: a bar of clay (okay really putty). The bar of clay is used to run across your vehicle's exterior so that it collects the finer imperfections that are embedded in your vehicle's exterior coat. To reduce inducing any scratching, a lubricant is used in conjunction with the clar bar. More clay is used as each bar of clay is saturated with contaminants

Polishing: Want that glossy, head turning look for your vehicle? This is the step in which you’re going to get that. During this step, any imperfections in the out coat of your vehicle's paint are masked or even removed using a rotary polisher/buffer along with a selected polish. This will allow your vehicle to get closer to achieving its original showroom look quality!

Sealant: Sealants are used to give added protection to your vehicles paint for up to 3 to 6 months at a time. They form a protective barrier around your car, truck or suv’s exterior paint so as to not allow any foreign contaminants from imbedding. Not only does it make it easier to maintain your vehicle, but it also adds more gloss to the finished product.

Waxing: For greater protection, a general wax is added to the exterior paint. Waxes add more long term protection against the elements including pollutants and tree sap. It adds that exceptional shine and turns everyone’s heads, and feels great to touch once applied. Cool thing is it also beads up water, so if you notice water collecting on your vehicle, that means it’s time for another round of wax to be applied.

Wheel and Tire: The tires and wheels can be the difference between a good detail and a great detail. We’ve all seen tires that have excess mud, brake dust, and grime accumulated on them. Unfortunately most people are used to this look and thus don’t realize their tires are NOT supposed to look like that. The tires and wheels go through the same process of pressure washing, degreasing, and shampooing as the rest of the vehicle. A bristle brush may be needed to clean the spokes of the wheel. Tire dressing is added as a finishing touch to rejuvenate the tires back to their original dark black coloring.

Exterior Trim: Continuing with getting the perfect detail for your vehicle, here is another important area that can get quite neglected: the exterior trim. These areas, which are typically plastic such as the front and back bumpers and stepping rails/pads, can fade over time. After all the other detailing steps are completed, a generous lather of dressing is applied to darken the exterior trim back to its original vibrant color!

Window Cleaning: Getting your windows cleaned on the exterior and interior is necessary for any great detail. Your windows should be clean and maintained so that you can drive the vehicle during the day and night with minimal obstructions. Most window obstructions such as bird droppings, pollen, condensation, oils, and water marks are removed during the general detailing washing process. The added touch for the windows is use of a general glass cleaner that is ammonium free and claying. After the windows have been thoroughly cleaned with the glass cleaner and treated with a clay bar, a small thin layer of wax can be added for additional protection.

Interior Detailing
Why detail the interior? Everyone deserves to drive a vehicle that is clean on the outside AND inside. The inside of your vehicle says just as much about the person driving your car as does the outside. You want your passengers to step into a clean vehicle every time. You want to have the car, truck, or suv that everyone wants to ride in. As the best interior mobile detailer in San Angelo, we will give the best detail inside and out!

Carpet Cleaning: What's the dirtiest part on the inside of your vehicle? The carpet! Carpet cleaning is one of the basic steps to hygiene for your car's interior. To clean your car's carpet and mats, a good vacuuming is given to collect most of the dirt and brush. Then a fabric cleaner is applied to loosen any stains, and a steam vacuum is applied to remove the stains. The mats and carpet are then dried.

Seat Cleaning: Seats are notorious for being the nastiest parts of the interior with stains from food, drinks, and other weird liquids. Seats are cleaned similarly to the carpets, in that a general stain remover is applied to uplift the stains and a steam vacuum is applied to remove the stains. For leather seats, a leather conditioner is additionally applied to prevent them from drying out. The seats are then left to dry.

Interior Trim: FINALLY, the interior trim is the last step of interior detailing. Interior trim can fade as time goes by, so it is imperative that it is treated from time to time. A general cleaner with UV protection is applied to rejuvenate the trim to the showroom shine it first had!
